Teenage & young adult

Young adult books make for a gripping read. The romances are full of the intensity of first love, as in Malorie Blackman’s Noughts and Crosses, John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars and Jenny Han’s The Summer I Turned Pretty. Meanwhile, the murder mysteries are real page-turners – One of Us is Lying and The Inheritance Games became TikTok sensations for good reason. Authors like Becky Albertalli, who wrote Love, Simon, have also broken new ground in creating LGBTQ+ books for teens. But, crucially, YA fiction is not just for young adults – adults can enjoy it too.
